How can I apply to Bay Atlantic University?

You need to fill out our online application form: baucommunity.force.com/bayatlantic/s & submit all required documents in order to be considered for admission and a scholarship.

What documents are required to apply to the program?

MASTER’S

  • Completed online application
  • Photocopy of government-issued ID (passport for international students)
  • Official bachelor’s degree transcript (or notarized copy)
  • Course-by-course evaluation of the transcript (for international students)
  • Bank statement showing adequate financial resources (for international students)
  • Sponsorship letter (if bank statement is not in applicant’s name) (for international students)
  • Proof of English Proficiency (if non-native speaker)

BACHELOR’S

  • Completed online application

  • Official high school transcript (or notarized copy)
  • Course-by-course evaluation of the transcript (for international students)
  • Bank statement showing adequate financial resources (for international students)

When is the application deadline for the program?

The deadline for Fall 2024 is July 1st 2024.

The deadline for Spring 2025 is October 1st 2024.

The deadline for Summer 2025 is April 1st 2024.

What is the admission process?

  1. To apply to BAU, you must complete an online application by submitting all required documents. It’s worth noting that our application fee is currently waived.
  2. Once you have completed an application, the admissions team will review your application and any scholarship application that you submit
  3. If accepted, you will receive the Admission Letter, Scholarship Letters (if applicable), and Admissions Confirmation Form within 7-10 days
  4. You need to sign the Admissions Confirmation Form, pay $200 admissions deposit, and then return the Admissions Confirmation Form and the deposit receipt to BAU Admissions via email ([email protected])
  5. Once we receive the signed form, further information on the next steps will be delivered to your email. International students will receive their I-20 within 5 days of receipt of the signed Admissions Confirmation Form to apply for their study visa at the American Embassy in their country. Our DSO can assist international students with any questions regarding the visa process.

Important note: All additional/pending official documents must be submitted to BAU Admissions before Orientation date. If students don’t submit all official documents by Orientation date, BAU reserves the right to revoke admission and scholarship offers, and international students’ I-20s will be cancelled.

When is the start date of the program?

Fall Semester

The Fall semester usually begins the first week of September.

Spring Semester

The Spring semester usually begins the first week of January.

How much does the program cost?

MASTER’S

There is not a fixed program cost. The Board has the authority to change tuition and fees for each academic year. Such changes are announced to students via email, on the Academic Catalog, and on the webpage.

In 2023-2024 academic year, tuition per credit is $1,200. Students pay the total of the credits they enroll each semester.

In 2024-2025 academic year, tuition per credit will be $1,235. Students pay the total of the credits they enroll each semester.

BACHELOR’S

There is not a fixed program cost. The Board has the authority to change tuition and fees for each academic year. Such changes are announced to students via email, on the Academic Catalog, and on the webpage.

In 2023-2024 academic year, tuition per credit is $620. Students pay the total of the credits they enroll each semester.

In 2024-2025 academic year, tuition per credit will be $635. Students pay the total of the credits they enroll each semester.

What financial aid is available?

Bay Atlantic University does not participate in Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs. To make education affordable and accessible, Bay Atlantic University offers private financial aid programs. A specified number of scholarships/tuition assistance is available every year. These are for tuition only and do not apply to student fees or living expenses.

Merit-based Tuition Assistance

This tuition assistance can be earned by either
– submitting a valid SAT, GMAT, or GRE score with your application
OR
-submitting an additional scholarship essay with your application
Scholarships are awarded based on the cumulative application: Exam scores, GPA, letters of recommendation, essay, extracurricular activities, etc. Click HERE for more information!

Global Scholarship Exam (GSE) Scholarship

-This scholarship is earned by taking the GSE in your home country.

Institutional Agreements

BAU makes agreements with governments, embassies, government offices, NGOs, and private companies and other educational institutions (Bahcesehir and Ugur Educational Institutions, Mentora College, etc) . During the student’s application process, they can consult with the admissions officer to see if there is an institutional agreement signed with their institution.

FIRST Robotics Program

Bay Atlantic University is proud to support ambitious STEM degree-seeking students. This year BAU will grant scholarships to students who have participated in the FIRST Robotics Program for a full season. Click HERE to see if you qualify!

James Wormley Full-Tuition Scholarship:

This scholarship, named after Washington DC’s prominent 19th century African American entrepreneur and educator, will be awarded to 5 high-achieving students from DC’s Public and Public Charter schools to attend Bay Atlantic University.

Requirements in Maintaining Scholarship

Students who earn a scholarship of any category should meet the following criteria to maintain the scholarship:

1) Continuously enroll in courses to meet graduation requirements (unless taking an approved Leave of Absence), and
2) Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 at Undergraduate and 3.0 at Graduate level for any semester, and
3) Avoid any disciplinary action for any reason. In addition to these, if the scholarship is awarded to the student for any reason other than the standardized exam scores and the student withdraws from the enrolled program in order to transfer to another higher education institution, the student is required to pay the tuition amount back to BAU for all course credits completed since the scholarship was awarded.

Tuition Assistance Re-evaluation

Undergraduate students who have completed 15 credits at BAU and graduate students who have completed 9 credits at BAU can request a tuition assistance re-evaluation. Click here to download the Re-evaluation Application Form.

Please follow the steps below so that the scholarship committee can review your case.

(1) Fill out the application for tuition assistance re-evaluation

(2) Write the letter of intent AND essay as instructed on pages 2 – 4

(3) Submit your completed application to [email protected] by the following deadlines:

NOTE: If plagiarism is found in the application, it will automatically be rejected. Each student can only apply for the tuition assistance re-evaluation ONCE during their program.

Scholarship disclaimer and policy:

All prospective and current students may apply for a BAU Institutional Scholarship, regardless of their nationality, enrollment status (part or full time), or academic history. In awarding scholarships, we do take financial need into consideration, but our scholarship system is based primarily on merit (demonstrated academic achievement or other personal accomplishments). Scholarships are determined by the Scholarship Committee, which meets weekly (biweekly during holiday seasons) to review applications and award scholarships for the following academic semester. Application results are emailed to all applicants.

What do these tuition assistance/scholarships cover?

They cover tuition only and do not apply to fees, flights, food, or accommodations. Please contact our admissions department with any questions.

How long is the program?

MASTER’S

The program requires 36 credits and typically takes 1.5 – 2 years to complete (depending on the number of courses you take each semester.)

BACHELOR’S

The program requires 120 credits and typically takes 4 years to complete.

Is the program available for full-time and part-time?

Students must take classes full-time

When are classes held each day?

Classes are offered weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

  • Weekday Mornings: 9:00am – 12:00pm (9:00 – 12:00)
  • Weekday Afternoons: 1:00pm – 4:00pm (13:00 – 16:00)
  • Weekday Evenings: 6:00pm – 9:00pm (18:00 – 21:00)
