This year, the BAU community is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Since its founding in 2014, BAU has remained firmly committed to its mission of enabling students to achieve academic success and preparing them for future success in their careers. As a New Generation University, Bay Atlantic University’s priority has always been to provide students with the best possible educational experience. BAU remains set on this objective by being mindful of its six guiding principles: Affordable, Focused, Global, Connected, Central and Dynamic. Let’s look back at how BAU has demonstrated its commitment to each of these over the past decade. 

Affordable 

• Bay Atlantic University’s generous scholarship and tuition assistance programs continue to make higher education accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status. 
• BAU supports the DMV community, numerous embassies and their constituents, and students at Mentora College with guaranteed tuition assistance. 

Focused 

• Bay Atlantic University is committed to student success, not research. BAU professors are scholar-practitioners who actively work in the fields they teach, bringing the most up-to-date technologies and practices into the classroom. 
• BAU offers programs in the most high-demand fields to ensure that students will be able to succeed in their careers after graduation. 

Global 

• BAU’s students, faculty, and alumni represent over 120 nations. Everyone who is a part of the university contributes their culture, heritage, and experiences to a truly international community of thinkers and doers. 

Connected 

• Bay Atlantic University is committed to supporting the local community. Students and staff regularly volunteer with organizations such as Serve DC, the Humane Rescue Alliance, and We are Family DC. 
• The Global Policy Institute, a leading Washington, D.C.-based political think tank, has strong ties to BAU. The GPI hosts regular discussions, seminars, and Q&A sessions, bringing influential and important guest speakers to campus to share their knowledge with students and the community. 

Central 

• Bay Atlantic University’s location in the heart of the most powerful city in the world makes it the perfect place for scholars of all backgrounds to come together in the name of education. 
• BAU is just steps from the White House and Treasury and blocks away from the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Smithsonian museums, Capital One Arena, and countless other political, financial, and academic institutions. Students have access to unique experiences that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. 

Dynamic 

• Bay Atlantic University’s modern approach to education and smaller size means that it is extremely flexible and can easily adapt, bringing students the most up-to-date information and techniques. 

• BAU is demonstrating that adaptability with the introduction of the brand-new School of Information Sciences and Engineering. Seven brand-new programs will be introduced, including: 

• Master of Science, Bachelor of Science, and Certificate programs in Software Engineering 
• Master of Science and Certificate programs in Artificial Intelligence Engineering 
• Master of Science and Certificate programs in Cloud Computing Engineering 

The 10th anniversary celebration is a testament to the tireless efforts of Bay Atlantic University’s faculty, staff, supporters, and most of all, its students and alumni.
