Dear BAU Community,
June marked the start of our Summer 2025 session, and it’s been energizing to see both new and returning students embracing their goals while enjoying all that the season has to offer. From exciting programs to meaningful moments of connection, this month reminded us that growth doesn’t pause in the summer – it flourishes.
A Few Highlights from June:
Student Summer Trip to Cape May
Our students kicked off summer with a three-day adventure to Cape May, New Jersey. From dolphin watching on a speedboat to a sunset tiki boat ride in Ocean City — and yes, lots of matching hoodies thanks to some surprise rain — it was a trip to remember.
Summer Open House
We welcomed prospective students and families to campus for our Summer Open House, offering a firsthand look into the BAU experience. From program overviews to student life showcases, attendees had the chance to connect with our dedicated faculty and staff. Whether learning about scholarships, gaining insight into the transfer process, or exploring internship and career pathways, our guests left inspired by the endless opportunities available at Bay Atlantic University.
Meet Your Summer Ambassadors
We’re also thrilled to introduce our new Student Ambassadors for the summer semester — Rayssa and Armel! These two bring incredible energy, enthusiasm, and insight to the BAU community. You’ll be seeing them at events, around campus, and across our social media. Be sure to follow us and say hello — they’re here to help welcome new students and make your summer session unforgettable!
Mentora College’s Youth Program
Mentora College’s Youth Program returned this June, offering students a three-week immersive experience to build their English skills and explore American culture. Through language classes, real-life practice, and cultural field trips, students improved their communication, confidence, and teamwork.
Empowering the Next Generation of Digital Leaders
We also launched a new Digital Marketing Bootcamp in partnership with the DC Launch Lab and Bay Atlantic University. Designed for students ages 14–15, this innovative program offers hands-on training in content creation, campaign strategy, and entrepreneurship. The bootcamp will culminate in a live public showcase, giving students the opportunity to present their work and graduate with portfolio-ready projects and real-world experience.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited that construction has officially begun on our new hub spaces in the building, marking an important step forward for BAU. The Center for Innovation & Global Entrepreneurship and the Cyber Edge Innovation Hub will soon offer cutting-edge environments designed to equip students with the tools, support, and community needed to lead in the fields of entrepreneurship and cybersecurity. I look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
Warm regards,
Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran
President, Bay Atlantic University
