Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran, the President of Bay Atlantic University (BAU), has announced a Presidential Award which will be granted to select students at BAU. This award is being given to honor Bay Atlantic University’s 10th Anniversary and is the latest in a series of special events and milestones celebrating a decade of success. “From the very beginning, Bay Atlantic University has been committed to providing a top-quality education for an affordable price,” said Dr. Sinem. “By easing their financial burden, we hope to encourage our students to fully focus on their academic goals and professional achievements, both in and out of the classroom. The recipients of these awards are very well-deserving, and I know they will contribute to moving BAU forward in the coming 10 years.”
Students in Degree Programs
140 students in Bay Atlantic University degree programs will be receiving the Presidential Award for the Fall 2024 semester. The amount awarded will be determined by the students’ Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and will range in amount from $500 to $2,000. Dr. Sinem explained that “students are the lifeblood of BAU, and it is the students that make our university special; I am proud to show my appreciation for their hard work with this award.” By celebrating and rewarding the highest achieving students, BAU hopes to inspire all members of the campus community to continue to strive for excellence.
Students in Mentora ESL Program
All students studying in the Mentora ESL program now have access to the Presidential Award as well. A special fund has been established for the benefit of Mentora students, and they will be able to apply $90 from this fund towards each 4-week sub-session. This will significantly reduce the per-session tuition and fees, increasing access to critical English language opportunities for all students. Reflecting upon the importance of ESL courses, Dr. Sinem added, “Communication skills are as valuable as ever. By learning English with Mentora ESL, I know our students are increasing their potential and unlocking future possibilities.”
Degree program students who are receiving the Presidential Award have received information about their award via email, and Mentora ESL students will have the opportunity to participate in the 10th Anniversary program beginning with the August 12th session. If you have any questions about your award, please stop by the Finance Office on the 9th Floor.
Finally, Bay Atlantic University still has a few surprises in store in celebration of its 10th Anniversary, so stay tuned!
