President’s Announcement:
Dear BAU Family,
As you all know, Mayor Muriel Bowser declared both a state of emergency and a public health emergency and today, DCPS announced that the schools will be closed from March the 16th to April the 1st.
In our previous emails, we said that we would follow the DC Government’s decisions. Now that the DC Government decided to close the schools in the month of March, we will be doing the same.
1. BAU face-to-face classes are cancelled from March the 16th to April the 1st.
2. The classes will continue via distance education.
3. BAU students and faculty will use itsLearning and AdobeConnect live sessions.
4. Please read the introductory document attached and watch the videos of how to use itsLearning and AdobeConnect to conduct live sessions.
Faculty: https://youtu.be/fL93e0VfBe0
Student: https://youtu.be/s19h0FH_qSA
Please note that the AdobeConnect links to conduct the live sessions will be active ONLY ON THE DAY AND RIGHT BEFORE THE TIME OF THE COURSE.
5. You will start your itsLearning and AdobeConnect live session on the same day and the same time of your course schedule. You will be able to stay at home and conduct/attend your classes online.
The faculty will record the whole session (it is explained on the video) and the link to this recorded live class will also be shared on the Resources page of each course for future use in case that some students miss the live class.
I want you all to know that we are fully prepared to get over this pandemic crisis and we are doing our best to secure our campus, faculty, students, and employees from the spread of the virus without giving up the access to our high quality education.
I would like to thank all BAU Family for the collaboration they’ve shown during this crisis.
Please enjoy your live sessions and we look forward to seeing you all in April.
