Bay Atlantic University is proud to announce the launch of three dynamic certificate programs designed to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce: Certificate in Software Engineering, Certificate in Cloud Engineering, and Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Engineering. These short-term, skill-driven credentials reflect the university’s commitment to providing accessible, high-impact education in high-growth technology fields.

The new certificates offer flexible, stackable pathways for students, working professionals, and adult learners seeking to advance or pivot their careers without the time or financial commitment of a full degree. Each program is grounded in applied learning and industry relevance, ensuring students graduate with job-ready technical competencies.

Certificate in Software Engineering
Built on the foundation of BAU’s Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, this certificate delivers focused training in programming, software development life cycle (SDLC) models, and the integration of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level roles including software developer, front-end developer, and mobile app developer. With the software development field projected to grow by 25 percent nationally by 2032, this certificate directly addresses a critical labor market need.

Certificate in Cloud Engineering
With cloud computing now central to global digital infrastructure, BAU’s Certificate in Cloud Engineering equips students to manage, design, and secure cloud environments. The program spans six courses covering operating systems, networking, infrastructure management, and cloud security. It prepares learners for careers such as cloud support analyst, cloud engineer, and DevOps assistant. The Washington, D.C. region, with its concentration of federal agencies and IT service firms, is a particularly strong market for cloud professionals.

Students will gain practical experience with AI tools and technologies while exploring ethical and responsible data use. Graduates will be positioned for roles such as AI engineer, machine learning developer, and natural language processing engineer. With data science and AI careers projected to grow 36 percent by 2033, this certificate opens doors in one of the most rapidly advancing sectors in technology.
