This new approval status strengthens BAU’s commitment to helping veterans, service members, and eligible dependents achieve their academic and career goals in Washington, D.C.

Bay Atlantic University (BAU) is proud to announce an important new step in its mission to provide accessible, career-focused education. BAU has been officially approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), allowing eligible students to apply their VA-funded education benefits toward our programs.

This new development reflects BAU’s ongoing commitment to empowering veterans, active-duty service members, and eligible dependents with opportunities to pursue higher education in the heart of Washington, D.C. Through access to VA education benefits, students can now take advantage of additional financial support while earning degrees designed to prepare them for today’s global workforce.

“At BAU, we deeply value the dedication and service of our veterans and military-connected students,” said Erin H., BAU Director of Outreach and Partnerships. “We are honored to support their educational journeys by helping make high-quality higher education more accessible and affordable.”

VA education benefits are designed to help eligible students cover tuition and other education-related expenses. Depending on a student’s eligibility and benefit chapter, programs such as the GI Bill® and other VA education initiatives may help reduce financial barriers and open doors to new academic and professional opportunities.

Institutional Support Beyond VA Benefits

Recognizing that not all military-connected individuals may qualify for federal programs, BAU ensures that affordable higher education remains within reach. Even without VA benefits, all veterans, active-duty service members, and their eligible family members qualify to receive substantial support through BAU’s DMV Tuition Assistance Program, which is designed to reduce financial barriers for domestic students.

To ensure a smooth transition into university life, BAU has established a clear and supportive admissions and verification process for students planning to use VA education benefits. Students are guided through each step, from submitting their application and Certificate of Eligibility (COE) documentation to enrollment verification and certification.

The university also emphasizes personalized support throughout the process. BAU advisors and admissions professionals are available to help students understand how to maximize their education benefits while navigating enrollment requirements with confidence.

This initiative aligns with BAU’s broader mission of fostering opportunity, innovation, and academic excellence for students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. By expanding support for military-connected students, BAU continues to strengthen its role as a student-centered institution committed to career readiness and community impact.
