When it comes to fun student activities, the U.S. doesn’t disappoint. Alongside the top-notch education system that the U.S. offers, there are many activities to participate in, sights to see, and things to experience in the country.

So, what can you do while studying abroad in the U.S.? Here are a few ideas.

1. Be a Tourist, Explore the Country

The U.S. is packed with picturesque sites and entertaining activities you may have not even heard of; make use of that. Treat the place as your amusement park, you may have assignments and exams, but you will also have free time to explore everything.

From Madison Square, Hollywood Walk of Fame, to the Cowboys Stadium, there’s plenty of sightseeing to do in the U.S. Ensure that you enjoy visiting these attractions and take enough pictures to freeze these special memories and moments in time

2. Perfect Your English Skills

This one is a given. You should continuously work on your English skills, and studying abroad in the U.S. is one of the most effective ways to do it.

Whatever your field of study may be—accounting, business, or arts—your English skills can help you to further your career. You’ll be able to reach an international market and even get a job in a country where English is required. Either way, studying in the U.S., taking all your classes in English, and making friends with native speakers will surely do a lot for your skills.

3. Go to a Ball Game

It’s not an exaggeration to say that most Americans’ favorite pastime is baseball. However, that’s not all there is. Americans also enjoy American football, which is an experience of its own. Considering the passion and tradition that come with watching such games, you should definitely not miss out on them.

Whether it’s summertime or wintertime, you’d be surprised at how much fun you can have by attending them. Get your supportive cap on, a hotdog, and good company, and enjoy the show.

4. Celebrate Holidays

Holidays are a great happening anywhere you are in the world; however, Americans really go all out on them. Whether it’s Halloween with spooky costumes and pumpkin spice latte everywhere, or the massive fireworks display that occurs on America’s Independence Day, the 4th of July, these events are not to be missed.

You can also have a blast anywhere in the city during Christmas, with the whole town themed, and a cheerful crowd around every corner. A New Year’s Eve party with your friends is another great occasion. Whatever it may be, don’t forget to have fun!

5. Experience Spring Break

If you’ve ever wondered what cultural activities for students there are in the U.S., spring break is definitely one of the biggest. It may not be considered as such, but that period of time in spring, right before summer with no exams, is definitely a fun time for students in the U.S.

Whether you want to spend spring break partying in huge crowds with your friends, by the beach, or visiting a place you’ve wanted to since you came to the U.S., you’ll surely have a blast.

6. Taste a Variety of Food

Last but not least, food. You will have almost unlimited options, and it might be hard to even make a choice.

As a diverse land, one thing that brings people together is the diverse restaurant options. You’ll usually find a variety of Chinese, Mexican, and Italian restaurants in any American town. From Greek, Egyptian, and Vietnamese delights to Asian, Mediterranean, Spanish, and many other restaurants, you can experience cuisines from all over the world.

Glazed donuts, burgers, that pizza shop on the corner, or street hot dogs—it’s hard to resist such tasty treats. However, be careful not to overindulge. Fast food can be incredibly tasty, but there are healthy options too that your body might benefit more from.

7. Learn to Love the Country

There are many experiences awaiting someone who has chosen to study abroad in the U.S. It’s a country packed with adventure, beautiful sight, and an abundance of multicultural, creative, and unique minds. These and many more reasons will teach a student to learn to love the U.S. and, with it, themselves.

In such a lively place, where students can revel in a variety of entertaining activities, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with a place that makes you feel welcome, as does the U.S.

Whether it’s a ball game, celebrating holidays, or tasting heaps of delicious food—there are a lot of things you can do while studying as an international student in the U.S. Being a student doesn’t mean your life has to revolve around only studying. So, if you’re planning on or are already studying abroad in the U.S., we hope this list gives you an idea of how much fun you can have!
