The gap was clear: elite education in D.C. came with an elite price tag. BAU set out to change that.

Founded in 2014 as BAU International University, the institution received state approval to operate from the District of Columbia Education Licensure Commission (HELC) on May 2, 2014. That fall, the first cohort of MBA students enrolled. The founder, Enver Yucel — recognized by the United Nations that same year for his contributions to global education — moved on conviction, not caution.

The founding premise was simple: education should launch a life, not mortgage it.
