Additional Considerations for Domestic Applicants with International Backgrounds
Some domestic applicants, including U.S. residents, immigrants, refugees, or asylum seekers, may have completed part or all of their education outside the United States. In these cases, the following requirements may apply.
1. Transcripts – Special Consideration for Displaced Students
Bay Atlantic University recognizes that some applicants, including immigrants, refugees, or asylum seekers, may face difficulties obtaining official academic documents due to displacement, conflict, or other extraordinary circumstances.
In such cases, the university may review alternative documentation, including:
- Diplomas or certificates
- Academic or professional references
- Personal statements
- Documented work experience
- Admissions interview
Each case will be reviewed individually.
2. Proof of English Proficiency (If Applicable)
Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide proof of English proficiency. This requirement may be waived if the applicant submits documentation confirming that the language of instruction in their previous education was English.
For more information about accepted English proficiency tests:
3. Course-by-Course Evaluation (Graduate Applicants Only – If Bachelor’s Degree Was Earned Outside the U.S.)
Applicants applying to a graduate program with a bachelor’s degree obtained outside the United States must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation from a NACES or AICE member agency.
This evaluation confirms the U.S. equivalency of the degree.
Step 3: Evaluation
Once you submit your application, the evaluation process takes 2–3 business days.
Step 4: Admission
Once all required documents are reviewed and approved, an official admission letter will be sent to you through your email.
Step 5: Scholarship Evaluation
Once the scholarship application is reviewed, eligible students who meet the requirements will receive an official Scholarship Award Letter via email, detailing the scholarship amount and any applicable terms and conditions.
Step 6: Tuition Deposit
Once you are admitted to Bay Atlantic University, you are required to pay the non-refundable tuition deposit and enroll in classes after registration opens.
Step 7: Orientation
Students are required to attend a mandatory Orientation, during which they will complete the registration requirements and select their courses.
The official course-by-course evaluation must also be submitted by this date. For more details on course-by-course evaluation:
