DECEMBER 12, 2016 – Students in Professor Kristi Ragan’s Economics of International Development class were challenged to present their launch plan for a product or service that would improve the lives of others. Teams of students proposed their products or services in final presentations to a panel of International Development experts in a “Shark Tank” setting.

The winning project team created an emergency, transportable refrigeration product for medical supplies called “Refugerate.” The back story, the tragedy of Syrian refugees in need of chilled medicines, and the dire consequences of not having a solution persuaded the panel to award this team the top prize.

BAU MBA students enjoyed the challenge of putting their academic knowledge into practice.
