On May 19, 2018 BAU International University had the great honor and pleasure of hosting His Excellency Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. Minister Tsogtbaatar was accompanied by several high ranking officials, including His Excellency Yondon Otgonbayar, Ambassador of Mongolia to the United States.
The objective of the visit to BAU was to strengthen the already important ties that bind BAU and Mongolia in the field of higher education. Many Mongolian students are already here at BAU to pursue graduate studies, many more will come soon.
Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran, BAU President, warmly welcomed the high level Delegation. She provided a vivid picture of BAU’s commitment to its education mission and she also described the distinctiveness of being part of BAU Global, a unique international network of higher level education institutions located in Turkey, Europe, the USA and Canada. A branch of BAU Global is now operating in Mongolia.
President Vatanartiran introduced other members of the BAU Team including: Amgaa Tserenchimed, Director of Administration at Mentora College, Professor James Moses, BAU Chief Academic Officer, and Professor Paolo von Schirach who also serves as President of the Global Policy Institute, GPI, the think tank that works in close cooperation with BAU.
Minister Tsogtbaatar expressed his confidence that current and future Mongolian students enrolled at BAU will be able to gain precious new knowledge that will be put to use in fostering Mongolia’s future development and economic growth. He also warmly suggested that GPI should be connected to an important Mongolian think tank.
The BAU/GPI Team welcomed this suggestion. By creating this new connection among scholars a new important dialogue will be added to the already rich relationship that ties Mongolia to BAU International University and BAU Global.
