The fall semester is now in full swing. Students have moved beyond their first days of classes and are settling into their courses, routines, and campus life in Washington, D.C.

Whether they are beginning their BAU journey or returning to continue their studies, our students are building the knowledge, skills, and connections that will support their academic and professional goals. We are excited to see the energy they bring to the classroom and the community throughout the semester.

BAU at DevFest DC 2026

Bay Atlantic University was proud to join DevFest DC 2026, bringing students, educators, developers, and technology professionals together to explore the ideas shaping the future of technology.

The event created meaningful opportunities for the BAU community to connect with professionals and engage with conversations around innovation, software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and career growth. Experiences like DevFest help students see how the skills they develop in the classroom connect to the people, industries, and opportunities shaping tomorrow’s workforce.

Thank you to DevFest DC and everyone who helped make this event an exciting opportunity for our students and community.

BAU Joins NAICU

BAU became a member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), strengthening the University’s connection to a nationwide community of independent higher-education institutions.

Through this membership, BAU joins a network focused on supporting independent colleges and universities, advancing student opportunity, and sharing ideas across the higher-education sector. It is another important step in expanding BAU’s academic partnerships and institutional presence.

Serving Our Community at Capital Area Food Bank

This month, members of BAU’s Student Government Association, along with students and staff, volunteered with the Capital Area Food Bank to help prepare food for families across the Washington, D.C., region.

The experience was a meaningful reminder that education extends beyond the classroom. By working together in service of local families, our students and staff demonstrated the care, collaboration, and civic responsibility that define the BAU community.

Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to support this important effort.

Mentora College: Welcome, New Students

Mentora College was excited to welcome new students this month as they begin their English-language learning journey in Washington, D.C.

From the first day of class, students have the opportunity to strengthen their communication skills, build confidence, meet classmates from around the world, and experience life in one of the most dynamic cities in the United States. With small class sizes and a supportive learning environment, Mentora College helps students focus, connect, and grow.

We are proud to welcome our newest students to the Mentora community and look forward to supporting them throughout the session.
