Dear BAU Community,
We are following closely the spreading trends in COVID-19 pandemic and evaluating and planning for numerous ‘what if’ scenarios for the reopening of our university in Fall 2020. We continue to hope that our students and faculty will be on campus in the fall and are working hard to create conditions that would make that possible. However, the safety of our community comes first in any decision that we take. There is still too much uncertainty for us to make a decision at this point. In the most likely scenario, we expect to have a mix of in-person and virtual classes in the fall to be able to control the number of people on campus at one given time. Even when we reopen our campus, the virus will likely remain a part of our daily life and social distancing protocols will need to remain in place until that threat passes. We will be waiting for mid-June, when things will be more understandable for us in the DMV area, to finalize our decision.
Until then, please stay home and be safe,
Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran
