CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES FOR MENTORA ESL PROGRAM

Student refunds are issued only by checking directly to the person or organization that originally paid, or to a third party authorized by the payer. Notification of Cancellation and/or Refund Requests can be given in person or mailed to 1510 H Street, NW, Suite 150, Washington, DC 20005. Refund processing may take up to 45 business days after initial submission of the Refund Request Form. The school is not required to honor a refund request submitted ninety (90) days after payment is received.
In accordance with Title 5-A8119 of the D.C. Regulations governing Postsecondary Non- Degree Schools under OSSE, our Cancellation and Refund Policy is as follows:
Document Processing Fee
The Document processing fee is required to secure the applicant’s place in the program and is non-refundable regardless of whether the student completes registration or later decides to withdraw. All fees at BAU are non-refundable.
If the applicant fails to complete the document processing fee payment by the stated deadlines, Bay Atlantic University reserves the right to revoke any admission offer and I-20 previously issued.
In the event that the applicant is unable to complete registration for the session applied for, Bay Atlantic University will retain the Document processing fee for up to one year. After this time, if the applicant wants to defer the application and receive a new I-20, the student must submit a new non-refundable $125 Document processing fee, along with any other necessary steps to complete your admission process or deferral.
 
Visa Denied
If the applicant paid tuition excluding all additional fees before going for a visa interview, this will be refundable if the applicant is denied their Visa by the US Government after the receipt of an I-20. If the applicant intends to reapply for a visa Interview, Bay Atlantic University will retain their payment. After the denial and the application withdraw the applicant has ninety (90) to submit the refund request, Mentora may, but is not obligated to, waive its refund policy.
 
Deferral Fee
The deferral fee is non-refundable. If the applicant decides to defer the application must months of session fees of Mentora College (tuition and mandatory fees) upon changing the program.
• If such students wish to transfer out from Mentora College before completing the initial 3 months of study, they will pay the Administrative Fee (Mentora College) of $500.
• If such students withdraw from Mentora College to another school after any session starts (late transfer out), they will additionally pay the Transfer-Out Fee (Mentora College).
 
Student Decides to Rescind Their Application 
Students have 72 hours (three (3) business days, excluding weekends and holidays) after signing the Admission and Enrollment Agreement to request a refund. Paid tuition excluding all fees is fully refundable within 45 business days after initial submission of the Refund Request Form.
 
Terminated 120
If a student’s 120 is terminated, no refunds will be issued.
 
Student Withdrawal from Class
If a student withdraws from a class before classes begin, the student will be liable for an Administrative Cancellation Fee of $100.00 or 20% of the tuition, whichever is less, and the balance of the tuition will be refunded. If a student withdraws during the first week of scheduled classes, the student will be charged an Administrative Cancellation Fee of $100 and 25% of the tuition. All tuition and fees are nonrefundable after the first week of scheduled classes (last business day of the first week by 5:00 pm EST).
 
Note: Current Students who have paid in advance for a full session (12 weeks of classes) will receive a refund based on the 4-week class
schedule. If a student withdraws on or before the first week of any 4-week class schedule, The refund will be calculated based on how many full 4-week periods are left after the withdrawal.
 
1st Week – 75% Refund
2nd Week – No Refund
3rd Week – No Refund
4th Week – No Refund
 
Consistent with BAU’s delivery of services policy, in the event that BAU determines it must suspend or alter its operations in whole or in part due to epidemic, pandemic, other public health emergency, extreme weather, natural disaster, acts, or threatened acts of terrorism or war, or any single act or combination of events beyond the University’s control, BAU may suspend, reduce, terminate and/or modify its operations in whole or in part, which may or may not include offering online or other alternative learning options, in its discretion. In any such event, BAU is under no obligation to refund or credit any portion of tuition, fees, or other charges paid or owed, but it may do so in its discretion.

RECEIVE $100 WHEN YOU REFER A NEW STUDENT TO MENTORA!

  • The referred student must put the referrer’s full name in the “How did you hear about us?” section in their application form. Please note: The referrer’s name must be shared during the application stage and cannot be added after the application is submitted.
  • Once the student successfully registers and begins classes, the referrer must submit the Referral Form.
  • Referral fee payment will be made 45 days after the referred student successfully registers and begins classes.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION:

  • Students who have previously enrolled at Mentora may not be referred again.
  • Referred students must be enrolled in a course at Mentora, and must be in good standing with the bursar’s office at the time of issuing of referral fee payment.
  • Payment will be made in the form of credits applied towards the referrer’s tuition and fees.
  • If applicable, taxes will be withheld.
