Washington, D.C. – July 2025 – Bay Atlantic University recently spent a dynamic weekend on the ground at two of the area’s most vibrant cultural festivals, offering a rare opportunity for in-person engagement with local and international communities. Rather than simply promoting programs, the university’s presence centered on conversation, curiosity, and connection.
On July 19, BAU participated as a main sponsor of the 9th Annual International Colombian Festival, hosted at The Catholic University of America. Booth 43 quickly became a hub of activity as attendees stopped by to learn more about BAU’s academic offerings and generous tuition assistance options. Many were drawn to the DMV Applicants Tuition Assistance Program, which provides up to 60 percent off tuition, while others expressed interest in Mentora College’s English-language instruction and the $1,200 Presidential Award. The day was filled with one-on-one discussions about transferring credits, admissions support, and career pathways, reflecting genuine interest in what BAU has to offer.
The following day, the university joined the Thai Street Food and Culture Festival in Annandale, Virginia. From morning through early evening, the BAU team engaged with hundreds of visitors at Booth 46. Conversations focused on practical details like program start dates, online course availability, and support services for international students. The feedback was enthusiastic, especially from individuals exploring degrees in business, technology, and English language preparation.
Chalita J., Engagement Officer at Bay Atlantic University, noted how meaningful these in-person interactions were. She emphasized that people were not just looking for information – they were looking for belonging, guidance, and opportunity. The team’s goal, she said, was to provide clear answers while also inspiring confidence and excitement about higher education.
The overwhelmingly positive response reaffirmed the value of meeting prospective students where they are. Beyond digital ads and formal presentations, these festivals allowed BAU to show up as a welcoming, diverse, and accessible institution.
Following the success of these events, BAU is excited to announce it will be participating in three additional Thai cultural festivals in the coming weeks. This continued presence reflects the university’s commitment to reaching communities directly and making quality education more approachable for all.
