Dear BAU Community,
It’s officially summer at BAU, and as we reach the halfway point of the year, we are proud to reflect on how much we have accomplished. From exciting off-campus opportunities to strengthened connections within our community, 2026 has already been a year defined by growth, achievement, and engagement.
A Few Highlights from June:
BAU Continues Partnership with DevFest 2026
We are excited to share some great updates from BAU’s engagement with the tech and innovation community as a sponsor of DevFest 2026. This marks our second year partnering with this important event, and we look forward to another impactful collaboration that supports student learning, industry exposure, and opportunities for students to demonstrate their professionalism in a real-world environment.

We are also pleased to announce that our new Cyber Edge Innovation Hub (CEIH) Lab graphics have been successfully installed on campus, reflecting the continued growth and enhancement of our learning spaces.

Exploring the Wonders of North Carolina
Our students recently experienced the beauty and adventure of North Carolina through an unforgettable series of excursions, visiting iconic destinations such as Bodie Island Lighthouse, Jockey’s Ridge State Park, the Outer Banks, and Beaufort.
We extend our sincere thanks to our Student Services team for making these memorable experiences beyond the classroom possible.

BAU Beyond Campus
Connecting with Future Students in New York
This past month our Admissions team, Adriana Garcia and Shabnam Yusibli, represented Bay Atlantic University at the GLS University Recruitment and Student Matching Fair in New York. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with prospective students and higher education professionals, while showcasing the academic programs, global opportunities, and supportive community that define the BAU experience.

BAU at the Future AI Summit in Istanbul
At the Future AI Summit 2026 held at Bahçeşehir University, Firuze Uzun, our regional representative at the BAU Global Office, represented Bay Atlantic University alongside BAU President Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran.
During the summit, Dr. Vatanartiran participated in the panel “Redesigning Intelligence: Where Universities and Human Vision Meet AI Innovation,” where she shared insights on the evolving role of universities in knowledge creation and emphasized the importance of maintaining a human-centered vision while embracing rapid advancements in artificial intelligence.
The event brought together global leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and academics to explore the future of artificial intelligence and its impact across technology, education, and industry.

July at a Glance
As we move into July, BAU will continue to foster meaningful opportunities for community engagement and student experience. The month will feature our annual Fourth of July BBQ, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in celebration of community and connection. In addition, students will take part in an off-campus trip to Kings Dominion, further enhancing student life and experiences beyond the classroom.
Thank you for being part of the BAU journey this summer. Wishing our community a season of continued learning and connection.
Warm regards,
Dr. Sinem Vatanartiran
President, Bay Atlantic University
