International Student Admissions (BA)
To apply for BAU’s Undergraduate Programs, the following materials are required:
- A. Online Application
- B. Copy of High School Transcript (must be in English)
- C. Proof of English Language Proficiency*
- D. Photocopy of Passport
- E. SAT Score (optional)
- F. Letters of Recommendations (2)
- G. Bank Statement
- H. Sponsor Letter (if applicable)
- I. Personal Essay
Below are the details for each requirement listed above:
A) Online Application – Applicants must submit a completed application form. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered for admission until all necessary information has been provided.
B) Transcript – If the high school transcript is not in English, the applicant must provide a certified English translation.
*C) Proof of English Language Proficiency – All applicants whose first language is not English must submit proof of English language proficiency to Bay Atlantic University. This requirement is waived if the applicant has completed four years of education at an English-language secondary school. Otherwise, English language proficiency can be established by providing an official score report for one of our approved standardized English proficiency tests.

D) Passport – Only an official government-issued ID or passport will be accepted. For international students, only a Passport copy is an acceptable form of identification.
E) SAT Exam – Optional exam. Not necessary for admission, but exam score can be used for scholarship. (See scholarship page for more details)
F) Letters of Recommendation – 2 letters from former teachers, employers, coaches, etc.
G) Bank statement – Statement shows proof of adequate financial resources. The balance must show at least $26,500. If the applicant has any dependents, the bank statement must balance must increase by $10,000 per dependent.
H) Sponsor Letter – If the bank statement the applicant provides is not in the applicant’s name, then the applicant must provide a written statement from the owner of the bank account that (a) explicitly states that that person can and will financially support the applicant for the duration of the applicant’s studies in the United States, and (b) provides a reason why the sponsor wishes to financially support the applicant.
I) Personal Essay – A 1-2 page letter of intent. Choose one of the essay topics below:
- Describe who you are, your purpose and goals, your accomplishments, and why you want to get a higher education degree.
- What is the most meaningful contribution to others you have made in your life? How do you understand the value of it on others?
- What is the biggest challenge you have had in your life and how have you dealt with it?
- What character in history do you associate yourself most with and why?
